
Sixth project meeting in Jezewo, Poland

From
May the 12th to May 17th 2014, 13 pupils and 18 teachers
from partner countries took part in the final meeting of the Comenius project
“Strong Health, hAppy PEople – SHAPE”, held in Jezewo, Poland
The
aims of the fifth meeting were:
- Presentation
of activities made by each school
- Evaluation
of the partnership progress
- Discussion
of possible problems
- Decisions
of the format of the next assignments
- Planning
the final activities
- Comenius
SHAPE products (website, presentations, photos; CDs/DVDs)
- Presenting
the general format of the final evaluation report and distributing the
tasks between local coordinators
- Discussing
about the EST data base
- Familiarizing
our guests with certain aspects regarding the Estonian culture and
civilization and the Estonian educational system;
- Motivating
the participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle by engaging themselves in
the suggested activities.
The
participants arrived on the 12th of May 2014.
On the 13th of May 2014 we visited
the school, we were introduced to the local staff and pupils and attended a
welcome ceremony prepared by our hosts. Students from all participating
countries together with their hosts made the joint version of the Decalogue of
a Healthy Lifestyle during the morning. After meeting the Mayor of Jezewo,
teachers met in a working session to discuss about aspects regarding the
partnership’s progress, the final activities, the responsibilities of each member
of the multinational team, the final products and ways of making them, the
deadlines for final activities and products, the final evaluation report.
Meanwhile, students participated in sport activities. Later on we’ve been to Adventure Rope Park
where the participants independently or in tandem run a variety of rails of
different difficulty levels.
On the 14th of May 2014
we were offered a guided tour of Gdansk and took
a boat sightseeing of Gdansk
Harbour from Westerplatte
to the city centre. On this occasion we improved our knowledge on local
history. After that we visited Sopot, the seaside resort with the longest
wooden pier in Europe .
On the 15th of May we participated
in a kayaking trip from Tlen to Grzybek on the river Wda. It was an
unforgettable experience which tested our physical abilities. After a picnic in
the woods, we were offered a guided tour of Grudziazd.
On
the 16th of May we departed for Torun where we were welcomed by the regional
authorities of Kujawsko – Pomorskie province. On the occasion of the guided
tour of Torun
we found out interesting information about local and national history and
admired the beauty of this old medieval town, the second biggest in the
province. Later on we visited the Geodium exhibition which tell the story of
our planet from a cosmic point of view. The last attraction of the day was the
water park in Nieszawka Wielka where we mixed relaxation with physical activities,
such as swimming.
On the 17th of May all
participants departed to their country with great memories of a beautiful country
with a rich history and friendly and hospitable people. It was a great ending
of our partnership organized by our Polish hosts.
The meeting’s
programme was highly connected with our project’s theme – healthy lifestyle – and
gave the participants the opportunity of improving their knowledge on other
educational systems and on other countries’ elements of culture and
civilization.
